About Us
Myoko Woodland Lodge
Myoko Woodland Lodge is a spacious, 5-bedroom house in Myoko, Niigata Prefecture, less than 3 hours by bullet train from Tokyo.
Located in a tranquil forest setting, the property is a 5-minute drive from the nearby Akakura Onsen village.
In winter, this area boasts some of the deepest and most reliable powder snow that Japan (and the world) has to offer. 4 ski resorts are within a 20-minute drive, and with many others less than an hour away, it is the perfect location for your winter adventure holiday.
As the snow melts away during April and May, cherry blossoms in Joetsu’s Takada Park put on a spectacular display against a backdrop of the stunning Myoko mountain range, signaling the arrival of spring.
As the season turns to summer, the area transforms from a winter wonderland to a lush, green landscape.
Golf courses are open in superb locations, and with hiking and mountain biking trails, fishing, water sports, and cycling routes, the area is an absolute haven for outdoor enthusiasts.
Myoko also harbors a wide range of restaurants and cafes with some of the best locally-made sake and dishes in the region. There are a number of indoor and outdoor hot spring onsen and a milder climate offers relief during the typically hot Japanese summers.
We love this beautiful part of Japan and would love to welcome you to Myoko Woodland Lodge so that you can experience everything that this amazing place has to offer.

Woodland Living

After a long day of skiing, walking, golfing or whatever the activity of the day, come home, grab a glass of wine or a coffee and kick back and relax in the spacious, comfortable living room.

When it snows here it really snows. Its not unusual to wake up to over a metre of beautiful, fresh powder snow.

With few neighbours and surrounded by trees, it really is a great place to unwind, slow down, sit by the window for a while and watch the sun go down, the snow fall or keep an eye out for the odd fox, deer or rabbit going past.
